1. Who we are
Yacht Rental Hvar ("we", "us") runs the website yachtrentalhvar.com. It is an independent guide to private boat trips in Hvar, Croatia, and a booking-request service. We do not own boats. When you send a trip request, we pass it to licensed local skippers and boat companies in Hvar so they can reply with an offer.
2. What we collect
When you send the trip request form, we collect:
- Your name and email address
- Your phone or WhatsApp number, if you choose to give it
- Trip details: date, number of guests, the trip you want and your message
- The page you sent the form from
If you email us directly, we keep your email and our reply. We do not ask for payment details on this website.
3. How we use it
- To answer your request and pass it to suitable local skippers
- To follow up on your request if a skipper needs more details
- To keep the website working and safe from spam
We will never sell your personal information, and we do not use it for marketing without your consent.
4. Legal basis (EEA and UK visitors)
- Steps before a contract: passing your request to skippers so you can receive an offer
- Legitimate interest: answering questions and protecting the site from abuse
5. Who we share it with
- Local skippers and boat companies in Hvar that we ask to quote for your trip. They receive your name, contact details and trip details only. If you book, the skipper handles your data under their own privacy terms.
- FormSubmit (formsubmit.co), the service that delivers the form to our inbox.
- Our email provider, which stores our messages.
- Authorities, only when the law requires it.
6. How long we keep it
We keep trip requests and emails for up to 24 months after your last message, then we delete them, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Show you the data we hold about you
- Correct it
- Delete it
- Stop using it, or object to how we use it
Email hello@yachtrentalhvar.com with your request. You can also complain to your data protection authority. In Croatia this is AZOP (azop.hr).
8. Cookies and analytics
The website works without cookies. If we turn on Google Analytics to count visits, it sets cookies to measure how the site is used. You can block cookies in your browser settings.
9. Transfers outside the EEA
Some services we use (for example the form service and email provider) may process data outside the European Economic Area. They use standard contract terms or similar safeguards.
10. Children
This website is not meant for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
