Frequently Asked Questions
Is one day enough to visit Hvar?
One day gives you a taste of Hvar but not the full experience. You can explore Hvar Town and do a half-day boat trip, or choose between town exploration and a boat adventure. For the complete experience, 3-4 days is recommended.
What is the best way to get to Hvar for a day trip?
The Jadrolinija or Krilo catamaran from Split takes about 1 hour to Hvar Town. First departure is usually around 8-9am, last return around 6-8pm. Alternatively, book a private speedboat day trip which is faster and more flexible.
Should I do a boat trip if I only have one day?
If beaches and swimming are priorities, yes - a half-day boat trip to the Pakleni Islands is doable. If you prefer town exploration and history, skip the boat and focus on Hvar Town. You can not do both properly in one day.
Can I see the Blue Cave in one day from Hvar?
Technically possible but not recommended. The Blue Cave is a full-day trip (8-10 hours). Combined with ferry travel from Split, you would have an exhausting 12+ hour day with little time to relax. Save it for a longer stay.
