The Secret Spots
Parja Bay
Boat access only
A hidden bay northwest of Hvar Town with a narrow entrance that keeps boats away. Local fishing families have known this spot for generations. The water inside is pristine, protected from waves and crowds.
How to Find It
Only accessible by private boat. The entrance is easy to miss - our captains know exactly where it is.
Why It Stays Secret
Narrow entrance invisible from main routes. Never in guidebooks.
Captain's Tip: Perfect for anchoring and swimming in complete solitude. Bring snorkeling gear.
Tvrdni Dolac
Boat access only
Below Zavala village on the south coast. Translucent emerald water that feels completely untouched. Rocky terrain makes land access challenging, keeping it peaceful.
How to Find It
Rough unpaved road or by boat. We recommend boat for the full experience.
Why It Stays Secret
Roads are terrible. Most tourists give up driving there.
Captain's Tip: Combine with south coast exploration - several hidden spots in this area.
Mekićevica
Walk / Hike
A double bay hiding past the popular Pokonji Dol beach. White pebbles, exceptionally clear water, no facilities. The extra 15-minute walk filters out most visitors.
How to Find It
15-minute walk past Pokonji Dol. Keep walking when others stop.
Why It Stays Secret
Requires effort. No restaurants or loungers to attract crowds.
Captain's Tip: Bring everything you need. Both bays are beautiful - explore both.
Mlini Lagoon
Boat access only
A forested lagoon on the eastern side of Pakleni Islands. Turquoise water surrounded by lush greenery. Romantic, secluded, and impossibly beautiful.
How to Find It
Private boat only. Not served by taxi boats.
Why It Stays Secret
No infrastructure, no easy access, no publicity.
Captain's Tip: Perfect honeymoon or proposal spot. Complete privacy.
Žukova Cove
Walk / Hike
On Hvar's overlooked northern shore near Stari Grad. Gentle sloping rocks, morning sun, views across to Brač island. The north coast rarely sees tourists.
How to Find It
Short walk from road near Stari Grad. Ask locals for directions.
Why It Stays Secret
Everyone goes south. The north coast is forgotten.
Captain's Tip: Best in the morning when the sun hits the bay. Quietest in shoulder season.
Gromin Dolac
Boat access only
Far from everything on the southern coast. Crystal-clear water in complete isolation. The rough dirt road means almost no one arrives by car.
How to Find It
Very rough road or by private boat. Boat is the only comfortable option.
Why It Stays Secret
Extremely remote. Not worth the drive for most - perfect for the few who make it.
Captain's Tip: Schedule as part of a full-day private tour exploring the south coast.
South Coast Caves
Boat access only
Unnamed coves and sea caves along Hvar's southern coastline. Our captains have discovered dozens of swimming spots invisible from any road.
How to Find It
Only by local boat with a captain who knows the coast.

Captain's Tip: Ask for a "south coast exploration" on your private tour.

How do I find secret beaches in Hvar?
The best hidden beaches are only accessible by boat. Taxi boats from Hvar or a private boat tour will take you to coves invisible from land. Some require hiking on rough trails, which is why they stay quiet.
Are secret beaches safe to visit alone?
Most hidden beaches have no facilities or lifeguards. Always swim with someone, tell others where you're going, and bring water and sun protection. Having a boat with a captain is the safest option.
Why are some beaches called "secret"?
They're not on tourist maps, require a boat or difficult hike, have no advertisements, and locals intentionally don't publicize them. Many tourists never learn they exist.
Will you take me to these beaches on a tour?
Absolutely! Our captains know every hidden cove. A private boat tour is designed around your interests - tell us you want secret spots and we'll show you beaches most visitors never see.
