Is Hvar good for snorkeling?
Excellent! The Adriatic has very high visibility (often 20-30 meters) and calm conditions. While it's not tropical, the clear water and rocky coastline support diverse marine life including fish, octopus, sea urchins, and underwater caves.
Do I need to bring my own gear?
Most boat tours provide quality snorkeling gear (mask, snorkel, fins). However, if you have your own mask that fits well, bring it - a good seal makes a huge difference. We provide gear on all our tours.
When is the best time for snorkeling in Hvar?
June through September offers ideal conditions: warm water (22-27°C), excellent visibility, and calm seas. Morning sessions often have the clearest visibility before any afternoon winds.
Are there dangerous creatures in the Adriatic?
The Adriatic is very safe. Watch out for sea urchins on rocks (wear water shoes) and occasionally weever fish in sandy areas. Stingrays are rare. No sharks of concern in coastal areas.
